Toss The Lard In The Yard!

My blog is dedicated to any human (and maybe pets too!) who are eager to learn about health tips and share them with others.

My purpose: I have stacks of various health magazines! I wanted to figure out how I can continue using them, instead of throwing them all away. These magazines have so many excellent tips on health and wellness.

So, using my iPhone and Nikon D40, I am going to photograph all the various healthy tips found in all these magazines and post them here for you to use!

You and I will benefit. Our lives will be enriched!

EAT to fight fat and disease!

It's like getting a makeover! Start picking out your food like you would pick your makeup, hair style, clothes, and accessories!  They all gotta match inorder to make you look and feel like a goddess...check out the science behind pairing certain foods together and what it does for you:

Once you realize that there is a science behind food, you'll be on your way to keeping the weight OFF and tossing it in that yard. :)

NO need to bulk up on vitamins.  EAT your vitamins.

First thing you need to know...if you can pair up your foods appropriately, you're going to get the most benefit out of them.  Pair your foods up with the thought of creating a multivitamin.  This article pictured touches on a few vitamins that you will need to eat, in order to assist with loosing weight and keeping the weight off!
VITAMIN D, OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS, and CALCIUM work together to help torch fat and boost your metabolic rate. SO, think about that fact when putting certain foods together.  Find foods RICH IN THESE vitamins.  The one thing to realize is that Vitamin D comes in various strengths, and calcium comes in a variety of forms.  This article DOES NOT specify how many IU's of D you need (nor does it say the type...could be D-3?!).  And, in order to get your calcium to be properly absorbed, it really needs a catalyst like vitamin D...

So, THINK OF THE SCIENCE BEHIND FOOD...when you eat, try to pair things up to create a multivitamin (or if you're trying to burn fat, pair foods together that do just that!)

I love reading PREVENTION magazine for their MUFA diet (Food Magic to a Flat Belly!!!)  They have an iphone app now if you haven't seen it...it's great! You can get it here on iTunes: http://bit.ly/aif0Hb

Of course, consult a doc to find out if you're lacking any vitamins and start the process of adding certain foods into your daily intake.  The article offers a few foods to consider to get Vitamin D and Omega-3 Fatty acids.
Start doing your research to discover WHAT FOODS pack the MOST VITAMINS!! Kale for example is VERY Rich in nutrients.  I offer a few blogs to follow that have a ton of that sort of info.  I really like this one:

BURN an additional 305 calories!! K.I.S.S!!!!

I found this a great motivator.  Instant thought: "KEEP IT SIMPLE SISTAH!" Many days nothing can get me to that gym...it doesn't matter how many bon bons or bagels I've eaten the day before, when I'm tired, I AM STAYING HOME!  So, when I came across this little article from Cosmo's October 2010 issue, I instantly wanted to share it on Toss The Lard In The Yard!!

Get creative...if dancing around while making breakfast isn't your thing, come up with something else to get you moving.  I like the dancing personally.

Keep me posted, I'd love to hear what you do to burn an extra 305 calories a week. Good luck!!
